Who we are

argonav.ai is operated by [Operating entity, to be confirmed by counsel], the technology division of Keel Merchant Bank (“Argonav”, “we”, “us”). We decide how the personal data described here is used, which makes us its controller.

This notice covers this website only. Argo, Itô and Singularity run under separate agreements with the companies that use them, and those agreements govern the data in them.

What we collect and why

Contact form. Your email address, and if you give them, your name, your organization and your message. We use them to reply and to discuss working together. Legal basis: steps you ask us to take before any agreement, and our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries.

Newsletter. Your email address, to send you our research and writing. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from the unsubscribe link in every issue. Our email provider reports whether an issue was opened and which links were clicked; we use that to understand what readers find useful, as part of the subscription you asked for.

Responses on articles. A name and the response itself, published on the article once approved. Legal basis: your consent. Treat a response as public writing.

Reading statistics. On articles, a small beacon records which article, how far you read and for how long, and which newsletter issue sent you. It stores a salted hash of your IP address that changes every day, never the address itself, and it does not run if your browser sends Do Not Track. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing which writing is read.

Security. Every public form is rate limited using a salted hash of your IP address, and our hosting provider keeps standard request logs. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the site available and free of abuse.

We do not use personal data for automated decisions about you, and we do not collect special categories of data.

Cookies and similar technologies

This site sets no cookies for visitors and stores nothing in your browser.

Our typefaces are served from this domain. If we ever add a tool that stores anything on your device, we will ask for your consent first and update this notice before it runs.

The operator sign-in, used only by our own team, sets cookies that are strictly necessary to keep that session signed in.

Who receives it

We use service providers who process data on our instructions: Vercel, which hosts the site; Supabase, which holds the database and files; and Resend, which delivers email. Cloudflare Turnstile is built into the forms to stop automated abuse and is currently switched off; when it is on, your browser contacts Cloudflare as you use a form.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose data when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or to a successor if our business is reorganized or sold, under this notice.

International transfers

We are based in the United States and our providers process data there. Where data about people in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland is transferred, we rely on the provider’s certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions, or on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Contact enquiries: 24 months after you send them. Newsletter: until you unsubscribe, after which we keep only a record that you left, so a later import cannot add you back; ask and we delete that too. Reading statistics: 13 months. Rate limiting records: one day. Approved responses: until you ask us to remove them. Records of our own team’s sign-ins: 24 months.

Your rights

You can ask to access the data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting what happened before.

Email privacy@argonav.ai. We confirm requests from the address they concern and answer within one month, or within 45 days where California law applies.

If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

California residents

In the last 12 months we collected identifiers (email address, name, a hashed IP address), professional information you choose to send, and internet activity on this site (the reading statistics above), for the purposes described in this notice. We did not sell or share it, and we do not collect sensitive personal information.

You have the right to know, to delete, to correct, and to opt out of sale or sharing, and we will not discriminate against you for using them. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out request. An authorized agent may act for you with your written permission.

Children

This site is for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data; if you believe we have, email us and we will delete it.

How it is protected

Traffic is encrypted in transit, and every database table carries row level security: the key this site ships to your browser can write a submission and cannot read one back.

Changes

We update this notice when what the site does changes, and the date at the top moves with it. We will flag material changes on this page before they take effect.
